Daniel J. DiBardino, M.D.

Dr. DiBardino currently serves as a cardiac surgeon and structural heart specialist within the Mercy Health System in Northwestern OH and Southeastern MI. With more than seven years of experience as a practicing cardiac surgeon, his work includes complex structural heart surgeries, as well as heart transplantation.  Prior to his current role with Mercy Health System, he served as a cardiac surgeon at Allina Health’s Minneapolis Heart Institute, the University of California at San Diego and Rady Children’s Hospital, and the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Mississippi Children’s Health Care.  During his time as a cardiac surgeon, Dr. DiBardino has also taken a professional interest in cardiac surgical outcomes interest.  In addition to his clinical work, he is also an active consultant to biotechnology and medical device companies, including having played an instrumental role in helping design Leading BioSciences’ ongoing Phase 2 program for LB1148.

Dr. DiBardino earned his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine and his bachelor’s degrees from Michigan State University.  After receiving his medical degree, he dedicated seven years to clinical residency and research fellowship spanning all areas of general surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and its affiliated Texas Medical Center hospitals. He also received additional training in adult and pediatric cardiovascular surgery and research at Harvard Medical School Brigham and Woman’s Hospital, and congenital heart surgery at the University of Michigan.
